We're an enquiry service, not a demolition contractor. With your consent, we pass your enquiry to an independent local demolition business once one is appointed. How it works

Demolition in Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast

Whether it is an old weatherboard in Geelong West, a tired brick veneer in Belmont, or a block being readied for a new home in a growth area such as Armstrong Creek or Lara, a demolition in the Geelong region follows a predictable order: council report and consent where it is triggered, a building permit, asbestos identified and removed, services abolished, then the structure down and the site left as agreed.

Geelong Demolition Service is a referral service. You describe the job, and with your consent we pass it to one independent demolition business that holds the Victorian registration the work calls for. We do not carry out demolition and we do not set prices. The phone line takes voicemail only, and every message gets a reply.

Approvals at a glance

In Victoria a registered building surveyor issues the building permit for demolition. Before that, section 29A of the Building Act 1993 calls for the council's report and consent when the work would remove more than half the building's volume or touch any part of the street facade. The City of Greater Geelong publishes its own 29A report and consent form, and also checks whether a planning permit is needed, for example where a Heritage Overlay applies. Properties in Surf Coast, Golden Plains or Queenscliffe go through their own council. Our permits guide walks through each step.

Budgeting

Published Victorian guides for 2026 give broad price ranges, collected in our demolition cost guide. The real figure only comes from a contractor's on-site inspection and written quote.

How a referral works

  1. Send us the address or suburb, a short description, photos and your timing.
  2. We confirm the job is within scope and ask your consent to share your details.
  3. A registered demolisher working in the Geelong region contacts you to inspect and quote.
  4. You choose whether to proceed. Any contract is between you and that business.
